Day 2: Old Things Have Passed Away

“The old has passed away; behold, the new has come”.- 2 Corinthians 5:17

Reflection:

There’s a quiet grief in letting go of the old- even when the old was painful. Old habits, old wounds, old versions of ourselves can feel familiar, even comfortable, simply because we’ve carried them so long. But Scripture doesn’t say the old things are improved. It says they have passed away.

That means you’re not being asked to manage your old self better. You’re being invited to leave it behind entirely. Whatever guilt, fear, or failure has followed you - it does not get to define your future. It already passed.

Reflection Question:

Is there a piece of your old identity you’ve been holding onto out of habit, rather than truth? What would it look like to set it down today?

Prayer:

Father, thank You that my past does not have the final word. Help me release what has already passed away, and walk fully in the new life You’ve given me. Amen.

(Please pray this prayer in your own words and from your heart)
